The Lights of Liberty: A Magical Christmas Event, organized by the North Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by local businesses and individuals is a fundraiser dedicated to supporting the Chamber’s mission. As the first year of this event, we’re excited to welcome visitors from nearby communities to North Liberty, just a short 15–20-mile drive from South Bend, La Porte, Plymouth, Granger…we are not a far drive from most anywhere! We need help spreading the word about this family friendly event.
This event replaces our Holiday Home Tour fundraiser. The idea for Lights of Liberty was inspired by a heartwarming or “cheesy” Hallmark movie where everyone gathers for the annual Holiday celebration. North Liberty already has cherished summer traditions, like the 4th of July celebration and the Potato Creek Lions Strawberry Festival. But we realized that we didn’t have an annual Christmas event that brings everyone together in the same way—until now. Our goal is to create a memorable experience where families and friends can share the magic of the season, with hopes of establishing Lights of Liberty as a beloved annual tradition.
With the help of generous volunteers and sponsors, we are transforming the Stellar Trail at North Liberty Elementary School into a magical experience. The paved trail starts at Wolfe Street and wraps around the back of the school and comes out at Market Street.
